danusia Posted June 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2005 I have been recently diagnosed with Addison's Disease (Adrenal Insufficiency). Are there any cruisers out there who are Addison's patients, and, if so, how do you prepare for your cruise? Any special precautions you would recommend? I've been in touch with the medical fleet who has been fabulous! The doctor aboard the ship assured me that they will have a supply of medication on board, just in case of an emergency. I never leave home without my medical ID bracelet, my medications or my emergency syringes. Anything I am missing? My family and I are traveling on the Star Princess on July 14th. It'll be my longest vacation since diagnosis, and it being a cruise ship with European ports, I'm preparing as much as possible. Thanks for any information you can provide!!! katisdale Posted June 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2005 Did you post this also on the disabled board here on CC? People with a variety of conditions check that board. Some of them might like other cruise lines and never check the princess board. Good luck with an answer and have a great cruise.
