There IS a Royal Promenade

Recommended Posts

Just got off the Breakaway on February16th.................did not even feel the boat moving. The sail and the ship was pretty good. It was our first time on NCL and we would go again if the price was right. We still love RCCL best.

Was on the same Breakaway cruise. Felt the boat moving a lot, especially the last two days and at night. Overall was NOT a fan of the ship design nor the staff. Wouldn't go on NCL again unless it was practically free.

Back on topic, though, I'm loving the idea of the Esplanade. Can't wait to see what they pull off as the connection to water, unless it's something similar to the NCL Breakaway/Getaway outdoor dining deck.

Don't know how recent this is, but here's a photo of the Quantum of the Seas build at Meyer Werft taken from a tourist at the visitor center that gives a glimpse into the promenade. The closest we've gotten to seeing it so far.

Also look how wide the promenade outside decks are......

Good point, you can see that in both the construction photo and the model. Too bad it's for the lifeboats!

Hope they take advantage of the wide decks to put areas to sit and watch the ocean and sunsets.
