Well, Shelia and Belle- I've missed you, too! Also Beth and CJaffe. I have been following Carolyn and praying for her. She lives in induction with the sticks by her side. I just want to kidnap her and give her a hug and say "IT ISNT WORKING!" The new research (I saw this on the news last night) from the New England Journal claims that Lo-carb produces faster results, but stalls after time. In fact, lo-carbers gain more after a year.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=12761365&dopt=Abstract
I am now back on track after the broken foot and busted knee, but had a major wrench. I ended up in an ambulance and in hospital with SVT (tachycardia) where my heart was beating 200/minute.I've had one more spell since then. I'm back on another dose of beta blockers; hopefully don't have to have surgery. It's hard to diagnose the cause- I had hot flashes before each episode, so it is probably related to progesterone or thyroid. I have to see Dr every 2 weeks, but she wants me to keep running and biking. I guess this news is making Tallblonde grin from ear to ear. When I croak, she'll probably host a party.I'll have Sissy notify you. We just got back from wine country in CA...has anyone seen Mendocino? I swear , it's the most beautiful place in the US. We're going back in November.Haven't planned our January cruise- we liked the Mariner so much we may repeat. We're taking Rick's parents , siblings and spouses plus my Dad and stepmom on the Enchantment in September. Loved it last year! Take care and keep plugging- it's a daily thing, ya know!

Linda,
I'm SO SORRY (truly) to hear about you're health problems, especially since you live a truly healthy lifestyle (and I'm not being sar-castic). I knew about your foot problems from this fall, but not about you're recent developments. Hope the medical community can figure out what's actually 'causing your problems and correct it... and hopefully w/out invasive treatment.
"Truce"? (and I AM seriously considering what you posted earlier... actually had tried it in past BUT had some major problems then (adding complex carbs and adjusting things... it acted up other problems) I'm still searching... know alot has to do w/stress (from managing elderly from a distance) that unf. at this time can't be eliminated. Thanks for your concern.
Praying for you (and all of us.. it can't hurt)
Carolyn
