Wedding Photography on Norwegian

Recommended Posts

Hi all -

Long time lurker, first time poster!

I just got engaged two weeks ago and my fiance and I were hoping to plan a cruise wedding. We have been debating between Norwegian, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. (My dad doesn't fly so we have to leave out of NY.)

I just called the wedding specialists on Norwegian and was told they didn't have any portfolio of wedding photography available to view. This obviously makes me nervous - you get one shot to get these pictures. Has anyone used or seen wedding photos from a Norwegian wedding and could let me know somewhere I could see too?

Thanks so much!

Congratulations on your engagement!

I've seen that there were a small few Norwegian brides that have posted reviews. I would use the "search this forum" function to see what you could find. I just typed in "Norwegian Photos" and saw several threads (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/search.php?searchid=40224006), including one from Lipz aboard the Jewel, (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1462186&highlight=norwegian+photos), and gymbomb (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1653491&highlight=norwegian+photos).

Good luck!!

Our photos came out nice even though there was a slight issue with the photographer. We didn't buy a package though since it was to pricey for us. We purchased a few individual photos that we knew we didn't have on our own cameras and that we thought were really nice. Our issue with the photographer is in our NCL Jewel Wedding review which is in my signature as will as been posted here by maychild.

maychild....thanks for sharing our review. It amazes me that almost 2 years later it is still being not only remembered but shard.

You have the link to the photos I posted online above, but if you have any questions or want to see any others just let me know. We were extremely happy with our photographer. Originally we had planned to just buy a few since my Dad has shot weddings before and took some pictures we were happy with, but once we saw them we knew there was no way we could narrow it down that far! We ended up buying the DVD with all of the photos instead of prints (she threw in the 4x6 prints she'd brought to our photo viewing appointment) which was $750. This was not an option on the initial information NCL sent us, but was offered to us on the ship.

Thank you all so much! It's extremely helpful. I am definitely at that COMPLETELY overwhelmed place in the planning.

Thank you for sharing your photos - you both look beautiful and happy! The reviews are helpful too. I think it's tough when you can't just peek in on a wedding or reception like you can if it's at a lot of halls. It helps enormously to have someone to ask who has been there before. I am sure I will be bugging you guys for more questions so thank you in advance for your patience!

  • 2 weeks later...

Our photos came out very nice on Norwegian Breakaway. I have a review in my signature showing off some of the photos. In the end it depends on the photographer, though. Two things make up great photography: The photographer's creative talent and the equipment they use to shoot. i'm pretty sure all these major cruise lines equip their photographers with good equipment so it is only a matter of who takes the photos.
