The thing I like about the low carb diet

it that you see results fairly fast and that gets you motivated

It also taught me portion control

I am not saying I will never eat pasta breads rice sweets etc... again but it taught me I don't need a big plate of spaghetti 1/4 cup suits me fine

same with potatoes and rice

now I eat a small piece of cake on someones birthday instead of a big slab

 

now that I have lost most of my weight I just adjust my carbs if I start to gain I cut back

 

I hate people that say that all that fat is not good for you

I don't eat any more meat than usual..just more salads along with it and I cut out the potato and roll that go with it

 

I guess you will always hear good and bad about every diet but if it works for you and makes you feel better...then that's the one for you

 

so pppffftttt on all anti-atkins people

it worked for me

Paradiser, you are right about Adkins working. I don't don't follow that woe, but my dh did and he lost 31 lbs in 3 months. He also did lots of cardio. He has now incorporated more fruits and vegies back into his diet and hasn't gained anything back. He is starting up his cardio again now, so he can lose a little more. I'm really proud of the progress he has made. He still refuses to eat bread, potatoes and pasta though.

 

I'm following eating for life which works great for me because I'm not too crazy about meat and I love my fruits and vegetables.
