mm&jjm Posted June 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2013 Will be taking the Aug. 28 cruise from Rome, Italy with a stop in Sorrento. Want to know if anyone has attended the Teatro Tasso and did you enjoy it. Is it worth it. Will there be time to see it and get back to the ship before departure. We've been to the Teatro Tasso and just loved it, but it is a very odd show. It rather reminded us of one of those second string MGM musicals where Jane Powell or Kathryn Grayson sang arias, while Jimmy Durante or Carmen Miranda clowned. Think Operetta, not Opera. The theater is extremely comfortable by European standards, and the food is surprisingly good for dinner theater. Unfortunately, there won't be time to get back to the ship for a midnight sailing, so before you commit to this, I'd suggest that you confirm with the Concierge as to when the tenders will start that next morning in Amalfi (unless you are content to sleep off the ship). Good luck, whatever you decide
