BlueEyesMI Posted June 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2013 We will be staying at the W hotel, and hitting Pike's Place the morning before we cruise. Are there plenty of party stores (or drug stores) in the area to run in and grab some beverages (adult and kid kinds!) before getting to the pier? Thanks. There are 3 Bartell drug stores in downtown Seattle. One on 4th and Madison, right next to the W hotel and 2 others within 4 blocks of the the W hotel. They have real good prices on Wine, including the excellent Washington wines. They have good prices on all kinds of Beverages.

Means a place where you pick up the Shrek paper plates/cups/napkins, balloons and the pinata around here. Never heard it used in relation to liquor. 2fromaz Posted June 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 9, 2013 There is an "party " store right at first / pike streets. Easy to get to, just remember that you either have to carry whatever you buy, or catch a cab to the port. We carried 2 12 packs of coke, that got pretty heavy by the time I got to the ship. But it was worth it. :-) Send from device_name using Cruise Critic your_app_name App

VacationWhen? Posted June 25, 2013 #8 Share Posted June 25, 2013 Yup! Of course, in my original home Massachusetts, we would be be buying our adult beverages at the "packy" (package store). Which really makes no more sense than a party store!

The state is no longer in the liquor business here, so the state stores have pretty much all been taken over or closed. Most mainline grocery stores carry all sorts of spirits (at outrageous prices, due ti the high taxes) but drug stores not so much. I think that Target downtown does, though not totally sure.
