I am not a massive fan of Naples, it seemed somewhat dirty and untidy to me but i completely agree, my "own" excursion was a €3 bus to Pompei, bus stop about 5 minutes walk right of the port. Made it back in plenty of time to get back on the ship for a 6pm departure.

 

This time will be taking the ferry over to Capri and spending a few hours on the island. Ferries leave from the port every hour and cost approx €16 each way.

I'm on the 30 August cruise too and plan on doing the same thing

We started off with the standard red-eye US Airways Philadelphia to Barcelona international flight. I would recommend another airline if it is at all feasible, but it was pretty much our only decent option. We arrived the morning of the cruise at about 9 A.M.

 

Mistervile, thanks for the review. We will be taking the same flight in when we go on our 9-night in October. How much free time would you have had in Barcelona that morning if you hadn't booked a transfer? We are debating what to do when we get in. What time did you have to be at the cruise terminal? Would it be silly to try and lock up our luggage somewhere and spend a little bit of time on Las Ramblas? It's our only opportunity to see Barcelona and we're really nervous we'll end up going straight to the ship and missing out!
