I would like a recommendation for tour operators for Tahiti cruise. I will be going with several couples on Oceania Tahitian Pearl for 14 nights and would like to arrange my own shore excursions.

Also any recommendations for day rooms in Papette before our return flight that is 11PM

I would suggest you go over to the Paul Gauguin Cruises forum/roll call. As a ship that stays full time in the South Pacific and primarily in FP you should find answers to all your questions there.

As far as a day room on yuor return the best choice is the IC Tahiti.

I have called several of the hotels and they are not offering day rooms, but want you to take a room for the whole night and if I got a room with 2 doubles they will only allow 2 people to stay in the room. (I do not know how strict they adhere to that policy) There will be a whole group of us and as we need the rooms only for 6-8 hours to refresh ourselves on the arrival and departure flights..we could easily share some rooms, but do not want to get over there and have any problems. Any info you can share in regard to this will be greatly appreciated. It is really a strategical problem if you do not want to sit in waiting rooms for 8 hours. I have called Oceania and they will not let you get on ship before 12-1PM and you can supposedly stay on the ship until 3PM departure day..but that still leaves 8 hours.

The IC is owned by the same company that owns the PG so that could be the reason as they might be saving day rooms for those passengers.

The problem is getting a day room close to the airport. There are a few other places but none are close to the airport and/or on the water.

We have in the past rented a car and circled the island for the day ending up at the IC hotel and asked them to use one of their 'prep' rooms which are a place to shower and change. This can be free or a small charge but for a bunch of you I wouldn't expect freebies. Then we head over to the airport in the car and check-in.
