Barcelona tour before boarding

We will be arriving in Barcelona early in the morning before our upcoming cruise. We could book a tour thru Celebrity which leave at 10;30 a.m. but was wondering if anyone had dropped their luggage at the ship and done some other kind of sightseeing before cruising. Our ship leaves at 5.

Thanks

Tammy

You say you arrive early in the morning. What time is your flight due to arrive?

How long is the Celebrity tour? What does it cover? How much is it?

Is there anything you particularly want to see or just a general overview of the city?

Our flight arrives at 6:15 a.m. and of course, there is waiting for luggage, customs, whatever else, but still early.

The Celebrity tour is 4 hours starting at 10:30, $67. Details they provide are:

This tour is for guests with arriving flights on the day of embarkation before 9:15 am at Barcelona's EL PRAT Airport (BCN) who want to enjoy a small taste of Barcelona before boarding the ship.HIGHLIGHTS: Ride through the picturesque streets of Barcelona. Pass by La Sagrada Familia and the cathedral in the Gothic Quarter from the outside. Enjoy the views from Montjuic Hill and pause for photos at Mirador del Alcalde. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at the port.NOTES: Guests must be able to walk approx. 0.5 mile.

Since we have never been to Barcelona, and we do have a limited amount of time, we would like to do some type of sightseeing tour of the city.

This is a great option. You should reserve it. After a long, exhausting flight (presumably), you won't have the energy to find things on your own, or want to worry about luggage. An excursion like this would enable you to see the city at a leisurely pace and in air-conditioned comfort. My husband and I booked a similar tour, post-cruise in April through Royal Caribbean, and were very happy with the experience.

thank you for your response and good knowing that you did something similar so you know! I was kind of thinking this, that we will be tired and it may just be the best way to go, since we have luggage....

Assuming there are two of you that tour is equivalent to about €100.

A taxi from the airport to the ship would be about €30-35 so I agree it sounds like quite a good option if it is your first visit to the city and your time is limited before boarding your ship.
