Dave4120 Posted June 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2005 Sailing the Western Caribbean December 11th on the Radiance. Have heard so much about the hump cabins that we took cabin #9078. Actually read that many love aft cabin 9256, but it was already taken and 9078 looked in the borchure to possibly be the next best D-1 cabin for privacy on one side of the balcony, along with having a larger balcony. Anyone ever stayed in cabin 9078 and if so, your thoughts? Regards, Dave
jerseygirl3 Posted June 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2005 We had 9078 on the Radiance and absolutely loved it! Don't trade it. The balcony is huge and there were no problems with wind, or noise from the elevator. Occasionally we heard some string instrumentals that were being played in the atrium late at night, but nothing annoying. If you don't have lounge chairs on the balcony when you arrive, make sure you ask your cabin steward to get you some. But my guess is they'll already be there. Dave4120 Posted June 26, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted June 26, 2005 Thank-you for replying to my post. I was happy to read that you have already stayed in cabin 9078 on the Radiance without any problems. Glad to see that the balconyh is so large without much in the way of noise from the elevators. i see the diagram showed only other cabins on just one side of our balcony too, which I assume allows a bit more privacy. Can people from other balconies see into these hump balconies, or is each side of the balcony still private on each side like balconies on other part of the ship that are not in the hump? Any other replyes to room 9078 or hump cabins on the Radiance are still welcome. Regards, Dave
jerseygirl3 Posted June 26, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2005 Nobody can see into your balcony, but if you stand at the railing, you can see into other people's balconies.

jerseygirl3 Posted June 27, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2005 You're most welcome. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Have a wonderful cruise. Radiance is a stunning ship.
SingBill Posted June 27, 2005 #7 Share Posted June 27, 2005 Glad to hear that the hump are good cabins but I'm not sure if it is only good on the 9th level. I also have booked a hump cabin, but lower in cabin 8602. Hope I am not disappointed.
jerseygirl3 Posted June 27, 2005 #8 Share Posted June 27, 2005 The balcony should be pretty much the same. I do believe those cabins on Deck 8 are "E" category, rather than "D" category, so I think the cabin itself is a bit smaller...as I recall about 20 sq. ft. difference. sgttami Posted June 27, 2005 #9 Share Posted June 27, 2005 I posted this somewhere in another thread....I'll be in 9078 for the third time in September....you won't be disappointed....it's my favorite (other than a suite, of course)
Dave4120 Posted June 28, 2005 Author #10 Share Posted June 28, 2005 Again, thanks so far to the few of you that have posted replys to how wonderful Cabin 9078 is on the Radiance. We are getting very excited about this room and area of the ship that it would not bother us if a hundred more people replied with the same comments. We look forward to cruising on the Radiance, and hope we get more feedback. Dave
SingBill Posted June 28, 2005 #11 Share Posted June 28, 2005 JerseyGirl3 You are correct. It is an E1 and not a D1 cabin and it is 20 ft smaller. I just hope that it is not too small.
kitty1 Posted June 28, 2005 #12 Share Posted June 28, 2005 8088 on the hump. We had this cabin on the Serenade and it was awesome. Largest balcony on the hump, was completely covered, and it had a solid wall on the left side for complete privacy. We booked 8088 for our Nov cruise on the Radiance. Having the covered balcony and solid wall made lots of difference when it rained. And boy did it rain on our last cruise, but we were able to sit on the balcony in our lounges and not get wet. Close to the centrum, and you could hear the music until 1am, but that did not bother us at all. We loved this cabin.
CruisinDawn Posted June 29, 2005 #13 Share Posted June 29, 2005 8088 (E1) is our favorite too!! If there were 3 people though I would take 9092 (D1) for a larger couch. Been in both, great cabins & balconies are HUGE. BonVoyage Dawna
