I have stayed there, several years ago. Somewhere in the vicinity of 20 years ago.

 

That should tell you that it is a good place right there, places in new orleans that get reputations for being bad do not last.

 

It has great courtyards, it had a nice pool. The rooms were typical french quarter rooms, oddly shaped and either large or tiny. The parking garage was a little odd when I was there but that may have changed.

 

It is related to the family that owned and built Plantation Laura in Vacherie, which was a french creole plantation. The hotel was one of the plantation owner's city houses that they resided in during winters after the sugar harvest was complete.

 

There is quite a bit of history there, and I am sure you can find more about it.
