Rare tofubeast Posted July 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2013 We booked our Alaskan cruise on Solstice for next summer a couple weeks ago. In the past week, the price went up and then came back down a bit. Now I know THAT is normal... But, what I find weird is that our cabin category 2A is now more expensive than 1b, 1a, SV, C3, and C2. An A2 is only $20 more. (It isn't worth for me to change because the overall price of cruise has gone up). So is it normal to see categories go for more than others in this way? Karen@Steve Posted July 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Absolutely normal. Price is completely driven by demand. The cruise must be selling well and the 2A even more so. There seems to be no rhyme or reason but it's completely driving by demand.
Rare tofubeast Posted July 5, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted July 5, 2013 I guess the popularity of 2A rose when we booked. Everyone wants to me near us. hahahah j/k!!
justcrusn Posted July 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Sometimes, a balcony is CHEAPER than an inside cabin, it doesn't make sense unless you realize they are trying to fill certain categories. It's all marketing, marketing, marketing like everything else I suppose.
