aalega Posted July 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2013 We are staying at the Country Inn and Suites after our cruise. It is less than a mile to our hotel on Magazine street. Is this a wise choice to walk this on a Thursday morning? There are 6 in our group, all adults or young adults. We'll have luggage too. A taxi (or two for our group) seems to be such a waste... Thanks! Susan
rvsullivan Posted July 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2013 Some will tell you otherwise, but I would tell you no. It is not an easy or convenient walk. Railroad tracks, one way streets, no pedestrian access. Weather can be an issue, rain, hot, cold etc. Cab fare for us has always been under $5 and well worth it. We are regular New Orleans cruisers. With the traffic issues during cruise time, the police give priority to car/cabs/buses, not pedestrians. Good luck.
Kim_KS Posted July 15, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2013 I don't think it's a bad walk, but I wouldn't want to do it with luggage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
