Since many shops depend on cruise passengers . They will probably be open.

Maybe slightly different hours than normal. All tours will run normally. We where in Aruba one Christmas day and all the shops where open normal hours. Keep in mind some countries Xmas isn't a regular holiday.

Usually all the retail stores are closed on Christmas Day. Restaurants offering a Christmas buffet and maybe the odd gas station will be open.

 

Usually the port is also closed and no cruise ships can visit on Christmas Day. Oddly I see Carnival Freedom scheduled for a Christmas Day visit this year. Perhaps some shops will open to accommodate those visitors.

 

Boxing Day, Dec 26, is also a public holiday in Cayman though more shops will be open on a reduced hours schedule that day.

My family and I will be on the Freedom stopping in Grand Cayman on Christmas Day. I sure hope some retail stores are open while we're in port.

Hi Cruisegal, I am sailing with the Dream and we port at the Caymans on Christmas Day 2014. When I try to book a excursion I am being told, the port is not open. Since you were on the Freedom at Caymans on Christmas of 2013, was there any problems? thanks,
