ParCan Posted July 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2013 Hi. The formal nights cover all the main dining rooms but not the Self Service Buffet style. You can eat in there and the food is great. For the Formal nights the vast majority of Gents will be in Tuxedo / Dinner Jacket. Some will be in a Lounge Suite. Ladies will be in their Posh Frocks. As for the Rooms, They are much of a muchness. Décor and Layout is the same pretty much for each grade. If you are looking for a Family Room, there are some with pull down beds towards the back of the ship that sleep 4. The Suites and some mini suites also sleep 4 (2 on a sofa bed)

Don't forget some of the bars (can't remember offhand, but definitely the metropolitan) and the theatre expect dress code to be adhered to. At least they did in April. BrianI Posted July 28, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 28, 2013 The menu in the main restaurants is enhanced on formal nights so its a shame to miss this for the sake of wearing a suit. Brian
kersh Posted July 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 28, 2013 The theatre has not been Formal dress when we have cruised on any of the PO ships. We have found many dress for dinner then change for theatre and most of the bars. Only Red bar and Metropolitan insist on formal dress code as far as I can remember. You can also eat in the Italian which in the evening becomes waiter served. The majority of the menu is free of charge with some meals like the steak cooked on lava rock is chargeable.
