Fly guy 87 Posted July 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2013 I work for an airline in Canada and will be flying standby to Rome late August and want to cruise on the Navigator on September 01, 2013. I cannot book the cruise until I get a confirmed seat on the flight literally just minutes before the flight leaves Canada. Will 2 days before the cruise leaves be too late to use an online booking site like Expedia or vacations to go? Or should I book directly through RCI or at the port? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers, First time cruiser
Clarea Posted July 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2013 I would call Royal customer service with your question. Since you would be taking a cruise that is not based in the US, there are different rules that govern booking. Also, waiting until a day or two before the cruise to book may leave you with little or no choice, and what might be left is likely to be a very high price. hotinphoenix Posted July 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 30, 2013 In a some what similar situation last year, my aunt who is a flight attendant, decided to join our family cruise on Serenade of the Seas out of Barcelona three days before embarkation. Granted, we added her to a cabin that we already had, but she was waiting until the last minute to see if she could get on a flight and was also looking ahead to the flight loads at the end of the cruise to make she sure could get home, too! We booked her directly with RCI.
