Walking from Comfort Inn- Midtown West to pier 88?

Thanks. I was thinking of taking a bus down, and staying overnight the night before my cruise someplace where I could walk to the pier.  But I checked on bus prices and that would be $160 alone, plus then a cab from the bus station to the hotel, so it doesn’t seem to be worth the hassle.  I’ll drive, stay in Stamford or someplace closer to the city using hotel points, and park at the pier.  Really for the convenience factor, parking at the pier seems the best option.
