Cost of Transportation Port to Hotel in Charleston

Hi, we are sailing out of Charleston Saturday. Our hotel pkg includes transportation to the port, but not back to the hotel on the following Saturday where our car will be parked. What is the most economical way for us to get back to the hotel. We have 6 people and luggage. One company quoted $85 plus 20% tip, but that sounds a little much to me. Any suggestions/info will be much appreciated. Thanks

It depends on where your hotel is...is it in Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, North Charleston....?

Do you mind if I ask when you are cruising? I obviously don't know why you chose that particular hotel, but there are plenty of hotels in the Charleston area that will drop you off and pick you up from the port and allow you to park your car for free.

We chose this hotel for several reasons. We have 6 people. We can rent one suite and comfortably sleep. Embassy suites was also one of the few that didn't limit to 2 or 4 passengers without a significant added charge. We also get evening drinks and a very nice breakfast along with leaving the car parked there until we return. We have stayed here in the past and were very pleased with the location, amenities, and service.

We just need to find a reasonably priced mode of transportation back to the hotel for all; we don't know the area well enough to split up with some going back to hotel and others staying at the pier. (especially with only 1 adult male).

Got it. Did you try the port of call boards? You can probably find some good answers there. Most ports have car services that offer shuttle/car services. Good luck! :)
