MTJtraveller Posted August 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2013 We will be in Vigo early September for 12 hours on Windstar and I was thinking about taking the train from Vigo to santiago de compostela ourselves. Anyone done this? Your experiences? Anyone have any opinion on ease of doing this ourselves and hints to help it go smoothly? It seems pretty straight forward online but I sure like to ask first! diligaf51 Posted September 18, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2013 We did the trip via train with ease. One thing though....it is a fairly long walk from the station to the cathedral. We walked there and then took a taxi back.

We did this from A Coruna last month and it's very easy by train. Your journey will be longer than ours at about an hour and a half, but you have a long day in port and once at the station it's a short walk to the city. If it's any help in making your decision this is what S de C looks like All the best, Tony Oops - just seen you said EARLY September - oh well, I hope you went and enjoyed it.
