Flam railway with hiking

Has anyone done the excursion in Flam - railway with hiking. How strenuous is the walking as I have this booked, but I have recently got a fibroid that gives backache so hope the walking is manageable. Tried to change to Railway only, but its fully booked

this is one of the best excursions i have ever taken. It is a long walk, quite a few miles, but sloping downhill. beautiful scenery, waterfalls and farmland. friendly goats.

i think we did this in '06. i believe the distance then was 7 miles. Not sure whether it is different now.

I am fit but need to know if it is do able. Just need to know if it is at a fast pace for keen walkers or at a comfortable pace :confused:

We did this several years ago and would do it again in. The first bit was on a gravel path that took some care but well worth the effort. Enjoy! The out of shape old guy had no trouble.

We just did the Flam Railway Excursion this past June. An excursion well worth the price.

You could always rent a bike to ride down. There is a bike shop that will transport bikes to the top.
