Hi I will be on the pride of America the week of October 12th. We went on the same cruise last year in June. One of the things we didn't do was a luau. We are planning on staying three nights before cruise in Honolulu and we are also planing on staying one night in Lahaina why we are on the cruise. Don't know which luau to do. Any advice would be helpful. They both have good reviews but its seems like old Lahaina has better food. Please help thanks. :)

Can't comment on Chiefs luau but on tripadvisor it gets very good reviews as does OLL which we have done three times with different friends.

We like it because the food has always been fresh, they also escort each table up so the is no pushing and shoving, they also serve from both sides so the lines move quickly as they have a show to put on.

We also like the fact that it's a small venue 500 people, so the earlier you make your resy the better seating you will get. They have two types of seating one is on mats on the ground, unless your young go for the tradition table seating.

They also are quite plentiful with there drinks, they walk around with trays of Mai Tai's or you can go to the bar and order what you want, the bar is rarely busy and they have lots of bartenders on.

I too have done the Old Lahaina Luau. I would highly recommend it. The food and drinks were great (and so was the fantastic sunset). We did the mat seating and I would recommend it if you can sit on the ground. It does book up early.

I've done both, and the drive and beautiful views behind the stage at Chief's luau are awesome. You can be seated closer to stage if you pay higher Royal Package but all seating arrangement were great. I saw it two weeks ago and I though it was better than OLL. It's been over 5 yrs i've been to OLL and it doesn't have fireknifedance in comparison to 8 fireknifedancers on Chief's(ending). Chief is very funny and hilarious too. It's just fantastic in my book and been to PCC, OLL, Paradise, Germaine's, Smith's, just to name a few.
