Gluten free on Explorer?

Hello Fellow SS Travelers,

We are sailing on Silver Explorer in 2014 for the first time. I have a gluten allergy and have not had cross contamination issues on Whisper, Spirit, Shadow or Wind. It occurred to me that the galley and pantry will be much smaller on Explorer, so I'm wondering if there will be an issue preparing meals GF.

We are contacting SS special services, but I'd love to hear if anyone has sailed on Explorer requiring GF meals and your experience. Thank you!

We were on the Explorer in March/April with our surrogate family.Miss 13 has lots of allergies-nuts,seafood and a few others. She had no problems. At the buffets the waiters knew of her problems and pointed out suitable dishes.

On one occasion she had a pasta with pesto-pine nuts are OK for her.The waiter literally ran over to tell her it contained nuts.

So on boarding ask to talk to the Restaurant Manager and Executive chef. There should be no problems. As to cross contamination even the slightest hint would send Miss 13 into anaphylaxis so obviously there were no episodes of it.
