Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted August 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2013 We embarked on the Freedom yesterday. We’ve taken a few cruises on Carnival since they stated the FTTF program. What I noticed this go-around that did not occur previously was the orange FTTF stickers they placed on our luggage tags prior to our suitcases arriving at our cabin. The negative side of that, in our case, is that those are quite good stickers. We’ve been using reusable luggage tag holders for years to slip the printed tags into (two on each piece for additional “insurance”). Upon trying to remove these stickers, they come off in shreds. When we get home I’ll try some “goo gone” (I think that’s what it’s called), but not sure what that will do to the holders. Perhaps someone has mentioned this “problem” previously, and I just missed it! Tom
4hunters Posted August 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2013 Buy some new luggage tag holders, or better yet, simply fold and staple as the instructions recommend. I bet your luggage will get to your cabin just fine as mine always does without packing tape, holders, etc. :D;)

larkz Posted August 11, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2013 A hair dryer on high setting is very useful for softening the adhesive and making a stubborn sticker come loose.

seannyice81 Posted August 11, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 11, 2013 No ship name or stateroom written on the stickers?! I would be tempted to leave them on if I had another Carnival cruise down the road! haha.

Same here - I'm Platinum, so I get them anyway... ;) At Jacksonville, they had those tags that you loop around and through themselves, like the ones you get at debarkation. (That was in May, it may have changed now)
mapsmith Posted August 12, 2013 #10 Share Posted August 12, 2013 A) if I had another cruise coming up, I would leave the stickers on. B) to remove them get a bottle of "Goo Gone" We use it in our retail store to remove the glue from price stickers.
dixieva Posted August 12, 2013 #11 Share Posted August 12, 2013 If they put the sticker on over your luggage tag that has your room number on it how do they know where to deliver the bag? I see a place for a room number on the sticker but it appears to be blank.

okgirl Posted August 12, 2013 #13 Share Posted August 12, 2013 What a mess........I was thinking of getting some luggage tags holders, but I might hold off. I wouldn't want them to do that to them. It's hard enough to get the FTTF sticker off the handle. I usually wait until I get home because it leaves a sticky residue. I guess I need to add Goo-Gone to my packing list. Or maybe packets of adhesive remover like we use in the hospital.
flounder315 Posted August 12, 2013 #14 Share Posted August 12, 2013 Just my Opinion but, that is an insult to Diamond guest to get that stupid sticker that people pay for instead of earning it...
rtn Posted August 12, 2013 #15 Share Posted August 12, 2013 Thanks for the heads up...I have the same tags that we use when we fly to a port. I take off the airline tags and replace with my own cruise tags, very easy. We will be leaving from our home port next month so I will only use the paper tags. wrigley80 Posted August 12, 2013 #17 Share Posted August 12, 2013 That same thing happened with us when we also checked-in for the Freedom....we were using the Cruise Critic luggage tags and we had two of them that we had to throw away when we got home because the sticker residue from the FTTF sticker wouldn't come off

We just use the self laminating though so we just trash them. I hope you can get it off.
Lovefuninthesun Posted August 12, 2013 #25 Share Posted August 12, 2013 Shoot! Just bought some of those tag holders because I am tired of the Arts and Crafts with Packing Tape activity!:) I guess GooGone will do the trick when you get home.
