mersault Posted August 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2013 Hi All, I will be traveling with my 2.5 old boy on NCL Spirit Venice to Barcelona (27 August). I was wondering if people had any good port tips. Amusement parks, play parks, beaches, sights that are fun for a toddler. I don't want to spend more then 30 minutes in public transport. Besides toddler stuff he likes things like castles, interactive museums and animals. He likes to run around but doesn't mind sitting in the buggy and wander about. Venice: we just wander around, take the boats and eat pizza:) Athens: Not really sure Izmir: Not really sure Istanbul: Hagia sofia, the Palace and wander around Mykonos: wander around, maybe the beach Naples: heracleum and wander around in Naples civitavecchia: take the train to the beach and castle nearby. Is there still a hop on hop off bus? Livorno: take the train to Pisa Toulon: wander around Barcelona: we have a late flight. I found an amusement park
Kerry's Girls Posted August 12, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2013 For Barcelona, rather than the amusement park, take him to Parc Guell - there is a walk that is a loop around the park that includes lots of places to explore, a playground, etc. They have a place to buy snacks, restrooms, etc. I brought a stroller. In Izmir, my girls loved Ephesus - another place where they could scramble around, climb, etc, and it was a spectacular place for me to see as well. We went with a child friendly guide through a tour service, but you could take a cab as well. What a great itinerary! Best, Mia
mersault Posted August 13, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Thank Mia, I didn't really want to go to far away from izmir and I think Ephsues is an hour by car. In Barcelona I might do the parc as well
