Rare Kristal Blade Posted August 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2013 I have been looking into a helicopter flight on Kauai. I have checked out Blue Hawaiian, Island Helicopter tours and Jack Harter Helicopters. I am sailing on Celebrity Millennium in October. The local providers come in a bit cheaper than the Celebrity package, however some of these operators have a fuel surcharge, some do not include tax and I am not sure if it would be better to pre book the Celebrity trip and avoid any hassle with transport to and from the take off point. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice please?:) Thanks very much
puddles99 Posted August 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2013 I can only describe our experience with Island Helicopters - which was phenomenal. They provide a free shuttle from the pier and quote the all inclusive cost up front. We chose to tip the pilot & driver as well. The opportunity to land at "Jurassic Falls" is unparalleled. Our pilot also did a fantastic job of flexing his flight plan because of the weather patterns (the Na Pali Coast was socked in by fog so he visited other areas of the scenic island). It was the flight of a lifetime! If you have any specific questions I can answer, just let me know! Rare Kristal Blade Posted August 13, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted August 13, 2013 That is exactly the sort of info I wanted! Thanks you so much Puddles99. I wasn't sure about doing the landing at the falls, wondered if we might see more if we just flew, but now I am thinking of doing the extended tour. I think this is the best place to do the helicopter flight as it has so many iconic views!
elhenry Posted August 14, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2013 My sister and her family used Jack Harter in our July POA cruise, and they loved it; I also believe they were picked up and drpped off, no problem. Me, I stayed at Kalapaki beach :)
