ch7012 Posted August 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2013 If we are talking about the same thing the VIP Royal treatment comes with both the Golden and VIP levels. I am Golden. On my last cruise I was not in a suite but was escorted to the VIP (suite) lounge for check in, given a pink (VIP) key card, concierge service, breakfast and lunch in Cagneys, Priority boarding and disembarkation, basically (I think) all of the perks of a suite without the butler. I hope this helps!

To me, that is one of the best perks available. They used to give that out a few years ago, and we stopped sailing when that stopped.

On my last cruise (last week) yes...It was never explained to me ahead of time but was a pleasant surprise upon check in. In fact it took me most of the week to figure out why I was getting it - and then the concierge said that he was in charge of the suites and the casino VIP people. (I didn't dare ask in case it was a mistake...lol)

I didn't get any of that.....but when I went to book my next cruise that's when they told me I was now VIP. Didn't have that on my May BA cruise either, but then again, the casino system and staff on that ship is pretty screwed up anyway.. On the last night, I approached a casino manager and asked how much had been credited off my account, and was told "Oh, you have to earn a LOT of points for THAT!" I asked her to check my name again, and then she looked and sheepishly told me that (~$800) was removed. Jeesh, you'd think by the end of the week she would have recognized me and the dinner cert she gave me, etc, after I was in there pretty much 24/7. I didn't like that casino AT ALL! I am cruising in Sept. and am now Golden. Moved to golden the first day of my breakway cruise in June. Didnt get any Golden perks except the 10,000 bonus points and the premium drink card. Said the rest would kick in this sailing. We will see. On Breakway again. terry

We're friendly with the Casino Fleet host, and by email he confirmed that this is what Golden Royal VIP treatment means...basically all of the amenities of a suite (except the space, or the Haven access), excepting the Butler. I made Golden mid-way through my last cruise, and am anticipating this VIP treatment on my next... Jules will be on my next cruise himself, due to a Slot Tournament going on.... if there are follow-up questions, I can always ask him in person. He also said that for Golden, the Spa Access is 2 days of Thermal Suite access for 2 people. I wonder if I can choose which days (e.g. the sea days. :) ) Stephen . Stephen - yes, you can choose which 2 days you want the spa passes for. You let the casino host know and they put a sticker on both key cards with the dates you choose. I used the sea days on my cruise and it was wonderful! Enjoy!!!

tel2 Posted August 15, 2013 #14 Share Posted August 15, 2013 Is there anyone who is golden that has been on the breakaway since they figured out what this program actually included? Specifically, posters above stated that breakfast and lunch at Cagneys is included as a perk. What about on ships like breakaway and epic that do not use Cagneys for breakfast and lunch, but rather have a Haven restaurant. Surely they are not offering breakfast and lunch in The Haven restaurant to non suite guests? So I wonder whether that perk is available only on some ships? Anyone know? On BA & EPIC you forego that aspect of VIP. That's why my next trip is on Gem, and not BA. :) SJB .
tel2 Posted August 15, 2013 #18 Share Posted August 15, 2013 Thanks. I'm on the breakaway next month, but on the Gem for nine days in February. And I only need about 5500 more points to get to VIP. So now I'm really looking forward to the Gem. I will have the spa, soda card, pack of cigarettes every day, and Cagneys. I will be in heaven. I had been debating whether to upgrade to full suite from mini aft. Cagneys is one of the only reasons I would do that. Now I have more money to gamble...... hpecorari Posted August 16, 2013 Author #19 Share Posted August 16, 2013 And what perks did you get on the Breakaway as golden? Priority embarkation - just go to the CAS line Premium drinks for two - cards were left in room for us. Goodies sent to stateroom 4 out of 7 days Dinner for 2 at a specialty restaurant (I later asked for another comped specialty restaurant for 2 and they gave it to me.) Priority disembarkation - letter came in room with special colored luggage tags. Invitation to CAS party with free drinks and apps - letter left in room Spa access for two - go to spa, they have your name, you choose 2 days as Golden and they stamp your room key card with the two days. Cigar or cigarettes per day - You need to ask the drink guy for it or you can go to the casino bar and ask for it,. Convenience fees waived. They also say VIP seating for select shows but no one I asked knew anything about that.....and priority tender but we didn't tender anywhere. Do note, however, that the lines are CRAZY the first day/evening at the CAS window.....but once they get to know you they've always said hello to me whenever they saw me. goldmom Posted August 16, 2013 #22 Share Posted August 16, 2013 Breakfast and lunch at Cagney's is not listed as one of the perks for Golden. I'm guessing that this may be given on a case by case basis. More than likely it will be determined by how many suite guests there are, how many VIP's and how many Golden and VIP level gamblers are onboard. It will be interesting to hear back and see how many were actually offered this perk. Just want to caution anyone who is expecting this perk that it's very possible that it may or may not be offered. Of course this is a guess on my part, but it seems that many times perks which are not spelled out specifically are not always given. Just don't want anyone to be disappointed. Cagneys B&L is included in what they call VIP Royal Treatment. That term has existed for a while... when we were sailing non-suite, but had been invited by the HD, the print-out they use as the restaurant had a few rooms under the heading VIP Royal Treatment...and that's where we were listed. I also called CAS yesterday, and confirmed it. Stephen .

It's just that someone who was Golden level posted that they got breakfast and lunch in Cagney's which seemed unusual as it's not a listed perk for that level.
