Getting to the port of NOLA

Just a reminder that you can't take a lot of luggage onto the street car. If you have anything bigger than a large carry on, it will be a struggle to get it through the doors. The street cars are not designed for passengers with luggage. They are old and historic with no where to store the luggage. I rode them a few weeks ago while in the city and made a mental note about this since it is often asked on this forum. That particular day, there was a long line waiting to get on (nobody had luggage. I have never actually seen anyone attempt to take on luggage.) The doors opened, people pushed ahead quickly (no real line), and the conductor did not seem like she would have the patience to wait for people trying to get their luggage through the door. The street car was packed. The wooden seats are very close with very little leg room so I doubt a bag bigger than a backpack would fit. The aisles cannot be blocked.

If you are traveling with very little luggage, I think this may be an okay option. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.
