mcgrate Posted August 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2013 Just wondering how many kids approx per category? Is it 5, 10, 50? Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
#1TravelMom Posted August 17, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2013 You will need to be much more specific to get a closer estimate. If you are on a longer sailing(10-14 days) during the school year, there may 30 children or less per age group. If you cruise at Thanksgiving(like we do), on a 7-day sailing - there can be 300+ per age group. Timing and sailing makes a BIG difference. Obviously, all the children in a specific age group don't all attend at the same time, but you can definitely tell a big difference. At Thanksgiving, we may stand in line 20 minutes or more just dropping off or picking up our daughter.

The very next week they were expecting 1,100. So Travel Mom is exactly right - participation rates vary GREATLY.

boulders Posted August 18, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2013 If it's during half-terms, which seems to be the last week of October, it may be a lot. There will be more on Independence, Liberty, Navigator and Adventure of the Seas because of their appeal to families and because Indy, Liberty and Adventure leave from Southampton. There will be fewer children on Splendour, Legend and Serenade.
