markj23 Posted August 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2013 So the RCI T&Cs state "Our ships do not accept Australian bank issued foreign currency cards if these do not contain your name either printed or embossed on the front of the card." Are there any of the travel cards out there that do have the names printed on them?

Dizziedi Posted August 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2013 The pre-paid Visa debit cards don't have your name on them. In America, most retailers want to sight photographic evidence that you are one and the same person as stated on the credit card. If your name is not on the card, they generally won't accept it so people need to be aware of that. They are fine in an ATM though. stki Posted August 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2013 If you buy an ANZ travel card through the ANZ website, it will have your name on it. It will be delivered to your branch of choice for you to collect. Its only if you buy them in the branch, that it doesnt have your name on it. I have also used my Travel card (no name), in the US, UK & Europe with no problems. Cheers Tanya

I went into NAB but they only have the ones in store (no names) and the lady advised she knew of people who had issues using them on the ships
Royalty X Posted August 19, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 19, 2013 If you're a Virgin Australia Velocity or Qantas Frequent Flyer, your new membership card will have a multi-currency passport incorporated into them (so they have your name printed on them). They're free and they don't charge a lot to recharge. I reckon that's the way to go. :)

I knew the cards were coming but ignored it because I'm being dropped in status on QFF this year. Seems my brain hasn't linked flying and cruising and using a QFF on a cruise was off limits. Works out well earning points on the onboard purchases :) Sent from my HTC_PN071 using Forums mobile app
