JackieH Posted August 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2013 So how is a Dec cruise different then a summer only?., besides the obvious weather . This will be our first winter cruise .. The prices were so good , and about a 4 hr drive to the port .. I couldn't resist and booked . Has anybody done the drive from va beach to Baltimore? How long exactly? We do plan on arriving the night before .. Been researching hotels? For you experts.. What's the best one for leaving your car and hot breakfast in Moring? There are 4 of us. We have cruised 5 other times and always in August . We decided to take kids out of school for the week and cruise .. I'm guessing there are less kids on a dec cruise then. Aug? I'm a little sad my 19 yr old son won't be with us.. He's got work and school. I know my 14 and 9 yr old daughters will enjoy.
Smailman5264 Posted August 26, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2013 I'm also on this cruise and have always cruised in the summer time. I will taking my daughter out of school also, she is 11. We will be traveling from Dale City, VA which is about 1 or so drive. My husband will be doing the deep sea fishing excursion and I am trying to convince my daughter to do the Segway tour, so far it is a no go, lol. JackieH Posted August 26, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted August 26, 2013 Yes,, that would be great to have the kids hang out.. Its always nice to hang around other kids.. I was always hesitant about taking the kids out of school when they got to the upper grades.. but then I figured, it was close to Christmas break, and Im sure they wouldnt be learning anything new at that time.. but I could be wrong;)
