Chmie Posted September 9, 2013 #451 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I've now got a plan for my retirement. Start a travel agency with only one travel agent and one customer :p
Out to sea! Posted September 9, 2013 #452 Share Posted September 9, 2013 LMAO! I know one particular CCer that won't be happy at all with this announcement. :D:p:D Would that be the one complaining they were giving away cabins in her category to all the casino players so she couldn't get more price drops? Now they're going to give them away to TAs so there will be even fewer price drops! ;)
Manny13840 Posted September 9, 2013 #453 Share Posted September 9, 2013 You mean the Victory nor the <insert other ship> are being Sunshined or Splashed? Guess not o well...

Georgiagolfer Posted September 9, 2013 #455 Share Posted September 9, 2013 And this announcement affects me how? This whole thread is a complete waste of time. And you are surprised at this? I said earlier, a lot of hoopla about nothing.

CarnivalBreeze319 Posted September 9, 2013 #457 Share Posted September 9, 2013 While this announcement didn't live up to all of the hype, I think it was a smart decision and demonstrates a positive outlook for the cruise line in the future. I look forward to the announcement in the coming months concerning the freedom and victory s dry docks.
soccersharon Posted September 9, 2013 #458 Share Posted September 9, 2013 Well, could be worse - could have been the end of Early Saver!
buckirj1 Posted September 9, 2013 #459 Share Posted September 9, 2013 Soooo, Carnival's going from, "naff off, all you travel agents, we don't need you" to "c'mon, all you travel agents, we screwed up and now we're going to bribe you" Nice. And solo cruisers are still being short-changed.
EZ4 Posted September 9, 2013 #460 Share Posted September 9, 2013 So where do we go from here? Back to rehashing fecal teabags, chogs and smokin' in the stair wells?

tgunn1978 Posted September 10, 2013 #467 Share Posted September 10, 2013 I'm a TA and I got the email about a surprise announcement, still haven't gotten anything yet today. I hope it's something big. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app If you go to GOCCL, you will see it. Its a free cruise for travel agents and up to 3 guests in the same cabin. tgunn1978 Posted September 10, 2013 #468 Share Posted September 10, 2013 CRAP! Don't like that! There goes my chance of trying to get a last minute upgrade at a bargain price. Now a TA will get one of the suites remaining on my cruise! It is only for cruises from September to January. (So far) And must be booked before the end of the month. Space is limited. Lots of rules. So maybe you will be ok.;)
tgunn1978 Posted September 10, 2013 #469 Share Posted September 10, 2013 As I understand it the original pre-announcement was directed solely to TA's. Now we know why. (I do not recall seeing anything that suggested that this would be good news for all cruisers, other than the speculation that occurred here.) Thank you! However,...I can see it as better for the cruiser that wants a TA that has actually been on a Carnival cruise as a guest. The best way to sell a cruise is to know about it from actual experience. At least that's what I was told before my first cruise. :)
