bungee Posted September 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2013 If you do not use all your OBC do you get a cash refund or a credit towards a future cruise?
usetobeacagirl Posted September 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2013 Hi, I am sorry but you don't. Use it up the best you can because if you don't it is gone!!! Even if you have to buy tacky souvenirs. Use it for excursions, spa, specialty dinners whatever you want. Good luck, Robyn
cuyahoga11 Posted September 1, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2013 Depends where the OBC came from. From price drops, yes it is refundable, promotional no, but the non refundable OBC is used up first

springs741 Posted September 2, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 2, 2013 You can get the cash by using the slots. Just transfer it to you players account and the go to the cashier. Have done it many times. This works for refundable and non refundable.

S.S.Oceanlover Posted September 2, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 2, 2013 Not being a casino regular, could you tell me specifically how you do that? Thanks Sent from my iPhone 5 using Cruise Critic App suppose on the last night of the cruise you have $80 OBC left. You put your sail and sign card in the slot machine and set up a password. After that is out of the way you can upload the $80 to your players account. After it's uploaded, just hit cash out and take your card to the cashier in the casino and get your $80 cash from your players account. tbazin Posted September 2, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 2, 2013 We just got back from the Dream and started with almost $800 in OBC due to price drop, it was used for all our tips (4 of us) and other stuff, the last day I got a letter that said any remaining OBC would be sent via check unless it was under $5 then it would be donated to st judes Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
krunch Posted September 6, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 6, 2013 Weird, Just 2 nights ago I called Carnival and asked this very question as we have some people in our group that have about $600 OBC TOTALLY due to price drops via Easy Saver. Guy at Carnival said, not transferable, not refundable. I guess we'll worry about it if looks like it's going to be a problem as we approach the end of the cruise. If so, we'll take a swing at the casino solution. Krunch

However, many folks have reported getting it refunded at the end of the cruise, so I guess it's a crapshoot.

beachbum6264 Posted September 6, 2013 #14 Share Posted September 6, 2013 Here's my personal experience with OBC and refunds... I had a pretty decent amount of OBC, some from FCC, some from stock, some from price drops. My bff and I were cruising together, I booked it so the OBC from the price drops went into my folio. I went to guest services once on board and asked about transferring 1/2 of the price drop OBC to her folio. She told me that the stock and FCC OBC was NOT refundable, so I could not even transfer that to her, but the price drop was refundable/transferrable. She said if we didn't spend all of it (:D:D:D HAHAHAHA) we would get a refund if there was more than $5, less than $5 is donated (I think to St. Jude, a worthy cause). That's my story, your mileage may vary.

ccruisequeen Posted September 9, 2013 #16 Share Posted September 9, 2013 If you haven't prepaid tips the OBC will be applied to them.

funinthesun1964 Posted September 9, 2013 #18 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I always seem to spend all of my OBC so this isn't a problem :o:rolleyes: But then again, have never had a big OBC balance...the highest I have ever had is $130 on my upcoming cruise. Figure that will almost take care of the auto tips...Not to mention spa, behind the scenes tour, drinks  If I ever DID have remaining OBC, I would do the casino thing. Wouldn't want to take a chance on losing that dough.
