DEB010 Posted July 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2005 we'll be in Nassau from 1pm - 8pm,on Jan.14, 2005, off of the Carnival Liberty. 8 in our group ranging in age from 23 to 59, and guess who's in charge of the shore tours/plans .... if you guessed MOM, you're right. This will be our first time in Nassau, does anyone out there have any suggestions for shore activities? we don't want to do the carnival excursions as they are usually over booked and over priced. Any and all advise/informaiton/suggestions are welcome. Thanks. -DEB010
grvdggr71 Posted July 6, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2005 Here are a few suggestions: -Take a surrey ride though downtown Nassau. The surreys line up right outside the wharf. -Go to the straw market (obviously). I am not an avid shopper, but was told this was a must-do activity at least once. Personally, I think the straw market is overrated. -There are some landmarks, such as a fort that is close to the dock. Have not experienced these, so I cannot comment on how nice/horrible this idea is. -Take a "Swim with the Dolphins" tour or go snorkeling. -Of course, you could always go to Atlantis. This resort is fabulous and the aquariums are world-class. Also, the casino is quite fun and we made about 10 dollars off the nickel slots from two quarters.
