cruisingbajan Posted September 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2013 Hi Guys, This will be our first time in New Orleans and we have been looking at this hotel on trip advisor. Has anyone ever stayed here before? How far is it from the cruise/airports? Is it close to shopping/downtown area? Thanks in advance.:)
tweety33 Posted October 26, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2013 I would also like the same info. Anyone stayed here? I am assuming you are talking about New Orleans Best Western French Quarter Landmark Hotel on 920 N. Rampart St.? It did have good reviews. MIPensFan Posted October 26, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2013 I am assuming you are talking about New Orleans Best Western French Quarter Landmark Hotel on 920 N. Rampart St.? The Best Western St Christopher is located at 114 Magazine St in the warehouse district. There are actually 3 Best Westerns in NOLA, and that does not include those close by in Metarie, Harvey, etc. I have not stayed here before, but we are staying there before our cruise in February. The reviews looked fine and it centrally located. The photos look very interesting, with the exposed brick and vintage fixtures. Like most NOLA hotels, the room are on the smaller side. It's a short walk to the French Quarter, and the port is about a mile away. Please note that, from what I've read, the Port is not pedestrian friendly. Best to take a cab. Rumncoke Posted November 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2013 We stayed there twice. It's a lovely hotel, convenient to everything, but we have no trouble walking. Walked to the French Quarter (Bourbon St.) easily. Canal Street is just about a half block to the right. Some of the rooms have the historic brick walls. Would definitely recommend it.
