QM1 Posted September 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2013 Dear Mr. Payne, I have a question regarding a minor design issue, though its a highly visible one. Lifeboats are painted bright because of safety. So far so good. But why are they orange on QM2, and not Cunard red which would fit much better to the ship? Orange does not seem to be mandatory, other cruise lines have yellow (Costa) or a tone of red that is like Cunard´s house colour. If such a colour is allowed (and imho as visible in a rough sea as orange), why doesnt Cunard paint the boats tops red?
Stephen M. Payne Posted September 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Dear QM1, The standard lifeboat top colour is orange and changing the colour was never ever considered. Thank you for your question. Stephen
