RCCL Cruise Couple Posted September 19, 2013 #51 Share Posted September 19, 2013 What is your favorite restaurant on Allure?? Me, never been on it but I am excited to try Samba Grill. Also where is/was your favorite place to hang out in the evening? Me, will probably be the casino. Our favorite, hands down, is 150 Central Park. It's perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime restaurant for most of us. But, the food is exceedingly well prepared and presented as well as delicious. This level of dining at a restaurant on land would be several times more expensive than the fee that is charged on the ship. So, don't let the fee at 150 Central Park deter you, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion. After we ordered, we each of us were presented with a miniature printed menu of our meal that our signatures had been printed on as a keepsake....a very nice touch. Be aware that there is one multi-course menu for the first part of the week and another multi-course menu for the last part of the week. Just check with the restaurant in advance for the different menus. The only choice you have for the meal is the meat course....all other courses are set. Our next favorite is Chops. We nearly always make a stop at Chops each cruise and have never been disappointed. Keep in mind if you make an early reservation (5:30 - 6 pm-ish) you may be dining with families who have small children. Steaks, family style side dishes and desserts are always well-prepared and delicious.
MelGurl Posted September 19, 2013 Author #52 Share Posted September 19, 2013 the only specialty restaurant we ate in was Rita's for the fiesta (terrible - don't do it).. but of the free restaurants - we liked all of them for the most part.. we really enjoyed the MDR and the Windjammer... going against the trend, we thought the Solarium Bistro was nice, but we liked the windjammer more... again, going against the trend, we weren't fans of the park cafe (except for the bagel, lox and cream cheese DH had for breakfast there every morning)........ we did like the wipe out cafe....i thought i'd hate it, but it was great for a quick snack... my favorite food on board? no...not the roast beef - i'm a vegetarian (those things look downright vile to me  ) my favorite food was the chocolate frozen yogurt - the soft serve machines - one in the wipe out cafe and the other near the smokers area on the pool deck... i ate several times my weight in that stuff.....really yummy.... much better than what they have on the disney ships.. and my second favorite food on board? the french fries in the windjammer....mmm....bet you can't eat just one! DH's third favorite food? the donuts on the boardwalk in the morning... you can see we eat healthy when we're cruising!! :) Yum can't wait! I can't wait to eat "healthy" on a cruise- Said no one ever :p I am getting married so feels like i've been on a diet forever
Sinppu Posted September 19, 2013 #53 Share Posted September 19, 2013 Loved Giovanni's Table. In my opinion Vintages doesn't get enough attention; they served excellent tapas and I recommend it heartily.

GTO-Girl Posted September 19, 2013 #56 Share Posted September 19, 2013 Does anyone have the menu for Vintages or can tell me where to find one? I am very interested in trying this in November. Would we need to make reservations prior to boarding?
