Kamloops50 Posted September 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2013 I plan on going on a cruise oct 25th. Will it still be warm enough to enjoy the beach? Probably . Warm enough is a personal choice . If you live in Florida it might be warm enough. I visited my cousin one time in LA in January . I asked can we go for a swim in the ocean. He replied that it is to cold. I personally found the ocean temperature quite warm.

October is a lovely time to enjoy the beach. Days are warm and less humid and evening start to cool down a bit. Of course, it's still hurricane season.. and we had "Sandy' visit us this time last year.
OCruisers Posted September 25, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Unless there's a tropical storm, October is a great time to go to the Bahamas! :) LuLu ~~~~
Rare maxandmolly Posted October 14, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2013 This true Gulf-side Florida girl froze my important parts off on my first cruise, in early October! I went in the water at Half Moon Cay and snorkeled in Nassau. But I grew up with the Gulf & my grandparents pool in upper 80s by July/August. So it's all a matter of experience. I prefer to sail this time of year for the weather and kid-lite population on board (hoards of screaming teens do not a vacation make), but I accept the trade off of mostly just looking at the pretty water, and hitting the hot tub back on board. We were on the Jewel last year 10-21 thru 10-28 so we missed our stop in Nassau due to Sandy...trying again this year on the breakaway leaving Nov 3rd with a November 7th arrival in Nassau- we have never been to the Bahamas - what is the weather like early November? We booked the Aquaventure at Atlantis- my husband loves water slides and I will probably spend the entire day floating around the lazy river!! We do plan to take a look at the digs and a quick trip to the casino as well. We arrive in Nassau at 8am and need to be back on board by 5:00 for a 6:00 sail away- I think it gives us an ample amount of time- do you?? Thanks in advance!! Unless there's a storm in the air, this time of year is quite nice during the daytime.. still warm and less humid. One warning.. the traffic backs up on the bridge leaving paradise island starting at 4:30pm.. you should either be ahead of it, or plan on being in traffic for 45mins to an hour getting back. Waterpark opens at 10am.

Hopefully we will be at the Atlantis by 10AM and done with the waterpark by 2 which leaves us sometime to explore the hotel and it's grounds! Thanks again!
