Bringing wine on board Century?

Can we bring wine on board the Century to consume in our cabins? We were thinking of getting wine in a box in Amsterdam to take onboard.
Providing your cruise starts in Amsterdam (e.g., the 7 nt "Norwegian Fjords" in August), this should be no problem, but "box wine" may raise some eyebrows at security. Technically, the wine is to be consumed in the dining room, and it's darned rare to see a box wine appear there!

The wine is for stateroom only.
Duly noted. We've taken quite a bit on with us on prior cruises, all in carry-on to avoid possible damage, and never been questioned. There's no way for them to have known in advance that we actually did take it all to the dining room for dinners. I have heard rumors (no direct contact) from those here who say they've had it taken at embarkation for delivery to the dining room, but how on earth could they know what you wanted on which nights? Again, no first hand knowledge that this has happened, just anecdotal information.

Thanks. Wonder if it is sold in Amsterdam that way.......hate to drag it all the way from home :)
Yes, it is. In fact, box wines appeared in Europe before they appeared here in the U.S. Believe it or not, they will fill what we call "cubitaners" (1 gal here, 4 liters there) at some of the local wine cooperatives. I even had one good one once served by a friend in the U.K. -- of interest, his business is 2 blocks from the Edgware station north of London that was blown up this a.m. Anyway, there are more decent "quaffing" wines from boxes in Europe (better than any I've had in the U.S.).

There's the obvious question of bringing it aboard. Might be best to stick with the smaller, 2 liter box in one of the softside rolling suitcases that many people use for airline carry-on.

I'd say the biggest trick to bringing on anything that size or larger will be keeping it cool. Even unloaded and with the racks moved around, the cabin fridges aren't much use because they don't cool for diddly in most cases (can you tell we've been at this a while?) -- not really cool enough for a red, and certainly far to warm for most whites. Your room steward will happily bring ice, but you'd need something to fit the whole business into. You may wish to consider some sort of soft fabric collapsable cooler that would hold a couple of six packs.
