SkiCruiser Posted September 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2013 We returned from a 7 day cruise out of OSJ on the Jewel of the Seas about two weeks ago! Had a great afternoon on the beach collecting over 8 lbs. of seaglass. My friends also collected glass. So now your asking where was this awesome seaglass collecting spot! We stayed at the Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino on the Condado and took a taxi to the Puerto Rico Capital in OSJ. We then walked across the road and walked down the stairs to the beach. The farther east (to the right) that we went the better the collecting got. In one area there were a lot of small rocks on the beach. I sat down and began to turn the rocks over and that's when the collecting improved! What a day! I can't wait to return to OSJ! Happy collecting! cakerbakermom Posted September 30, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2013 Just wondering.....what does one do with sea glass?
texancruzer Posted September 30, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 30, 2013 Many people just put them in glass containers......some light up the container for a colorful effect. But there are some people that make really pretty jewelry out of it..... I have a bracelet from Abaco Bahamas made with silver wire and a teal colored piece of sea glass.... I love it . SkiCruiser Posted October 2, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted October 2, 2013 Is this close to the Cemetery next to El Morro? Sadie, The beach with seaglass is not near the cemetery next to EL Morro. The seaglass beach is probably a mile or two east of EL Morro! Cheryl

RayInPR Posted October 17, 2013 #9 Share Posted October 17, 2013 Yes, about a 15-20 minute walk. It is Playa Capitillo, across the street from the PR Capitol building (which is worth a visit on its own). Google search will help with details ... http://lmgtfy.com/?q=playa+capitillo+sea+glass
