clcjdn Posted October 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2013 We will be in St. Maarten in about a month. I am looking for current information on the casinos there. I did a search, but didn't find anything current (2013). Can anyone tell me the following: Cheapest place/Cost of drinks while playing? Do the casinos have traditional (IGT style) video poker machines? Are the machines set/games played in USD or ANG? We are planning on going to Maho Beach, are the casinos close to there worthwhile, or should we expect travel to somewhere else on the island? Are minors allowed on the gaming floor, or do they have to stay outside? Any other tips/tricks/secrets I should be aware of? Thanks! Joe
gtaylor Posted October 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2013 I believe that everything about casinos in my most recent posts are still accurate. I don't know where the cheapest drinks are, as we've never payed for drinks. Our favorite casino is Rouge et Noir, on Frontstreet, Philipsburg, and even though I don't gamble a penny, when I drop my wife off there I'm usually offered a drink before I leave, and she plays Penny Slots. They're all, or almost all, the same games that we see in Reno or such, but usually several years behind. They're all in US denominations. Never seen one in ANG or NaF. Only been in Casino Royale at Maho, and found it to be a loser. Higher minimums and fewer free drinks. Kind of a captive audience for those staying at hotels and timeshares adjacent. I believe they're known for lower payouts. No minors allowed anywhere in casinos except for restaurants. Be nice. :) gary
