Okay, we've done Stingray City three or four times and love it, but we want do something different this year. What else is there to see and do that shouldn't be missed in George Town?

Sunset House (via taxi) (not far from dock) - excellent "tiki" bar / excellent photography studio featuring the best underwater photos by Cathy Church and others you'd ever want to see - nicely affordable! oh yes, don't forget to mail your postcard from Hell:D The island is easily navigatable if you rent a car, but tis left sided road driving! the rental scooters can be quite dangerous.

Hell is a hellish bore. The turtle farm is almost as bad. I would go to Seven Mile Beach, have lunch in port, and just enjoy the day. Or a snorkeling excursion? Or go back to Stingray City - I loved it there and would go again.

What is Rum Point?

How far to Seven Mile Beach?

Read my thread entitled "Rum Point-don't miss it", it will give you a pretty detailed idea of what to expect.

Seven Mile Beach is right up the road from the cruise ship pier you tender into. Maybe a 10 min taxi ride. I recommend that you book some kind of excursion that allows you to sit in front of a hotel that has chairs, food, and other facilities. SEven Mile beach is beautiful, it can be somewhat crowded. It is a wide open beach, so there won't be any palm trees for shade.

Rum Point takes a little more effort to get to, but it is probably the most beautiful beach I have ever been to after visiting several Caribbean islands and Hawaii.

Feel free to email me at my personal email and I will be happy to forward you some picturs.
