Resident rate questions

Doing some research on rates and "resident rate" comes up as an option. "Special rates for residents of select states" is all it says underneath.

So here is the question: Is there somewhere I can look to see if I qualify? Does it only come up if I do qualify? What is going on here?

Any info you can provide me would be great, thanks :)

When you are looking for cruises on Carnival's website, there is a spot to input your state of residency. It is under "special rates" where you also check if you are 55+, military, past guest, etc. If you have selected the state where you reside from the list, resident rates will come up if there are any available for your state. I've only ever seen it come up once for my state.

So, yes, assuming you clicked on the correct state from the list, you are eligible for that rate.

IF you are eligible for the 'military rate' fare viewer will NOT show this rate - you have to go to carnival.com and do a 'mock' booking clicking on 'military rate'. It will show you if the military rate is one of the 'special' fares offered for that cruise.
