Jbird81 Posted October 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Hi all, I was wondering if the noise would be a problem having an inside cabin beside the self-service laundromat on the Crown Princess. We would be right beside the laundromat, and have heard complaints that it could be noisy. Anyone have insight on this ?
Putterdude Posted October 19, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2013 The walls are well insulated and the entry to the room has a vestibule between the doors so your chance of hearing noise will be very remote. If you spend a lot of time in your cabin during the day, you may notice an increase in traffic by your door...but that's about it.
bluenoser2 Posted October 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2013 ....and the laundromats are not open during the night. I know they opened at 8:00 a.m. but can't remember what time they closed.
cantwaitfornextcruise Posted October 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Think they open at 07:00 and close at 22:00 We had a cabin opposite the laundry on the Sea Princess no issues at all on a positive I was able to put washing on and just pop back and forth. Hope this helps
ckrcjr Posted October 19, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2013 We had an inside cabin on the Island Princess this Sept. and it was next to the Laundromat. Never heard one noise and if we did not see the sign, we would never have known it was there! No problem at all.
need2cruisesoon Posted October 19, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2013 I agree, close to the laundry rooms is good. Other wise you are lugging clothes back and forth and gets tiring. Ruby laundry room.
Jbird81 Posted October 19, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Thanks so much everyone. We went ahead and booked the cabin beside the laundry room, and that is convenient that it's right beside us if we need to do laundry!
shootingstar07 Posted October 19, 2013 #8 Share Posted October 19, 2013 I was on the Star last July in an inside cabin right next to laundry room entrance. I never heard any noise. All the posters are correct - it is closed from 10 - 7 or 8 a m. I would book the room again. It was a great advantage dropping clothes in washer. No lugging everything down a long corridor. Nice. Duane T Posted October 20, 2013 #9 Share Posted October 20, 2013 You'll be happy you got a room near/next to the Laundry Room. We were on the Crown Princess (Caribe Deck) next to the Laundry room (was open from 8:00-ish to 10:00ish). Sometimes the steward came by and unlocked/opened the room 15-30 minutes earlier/later. The only real noise we heard were from passengers who were excited about finding a washing machine open and running to their rooms to get their laundry on sea days.
