How long is the wait to get to & from Nevis on ferry?

If we are just wanting to take in the beauty/sights from sea/coastline, but not wanting to snorkel or party, we are wondering if just taking the ferry to and from Nevis would be our ticket! Or are we missing something that we would otherwise get to see on a Catamaran (other than snorkeling)? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Check out the Ferry schedule very carefully to make sure it would work for you. If so, it could be exactly what you want.

The only thing you'd really miss is being on a ferry rather than a very relaxing sail on a catamaran.

It is about a 5-10 min walk to the ferry terminal from the cruiseship pier, according to the measuring tool on google earth, it is at most 750 yrds each way. Do not waste your time or money on a taxi.

We took the ferry to Nevis on our cruise. It's really easy to walk to. It is a 10 minute walk or so. We were hoping to be on the 8;30 ferry, but there was an immigration check that went longer than expected. We didn't get off the boat until after 8:30, so we waited for the 9:30 ferry. The ferry definitely works on island time. They didn't open for tickets until 9:15 and wasn't in a huge hurry to take off. There are a couple other ferries in addition to the one we took but I got the impression that they are mostly carrying freight. I could be wrong.

We were back in time for the 1:00 ferry from Nevis to St. Kitts. Then next one leaves St. Kitts at 4, and Nevis at 5. The other 2 ferries would get back to St. Kitts around 4:30, but we didn't want to risk it since they are in no hurry to get moving.
