ft. lauderdale otel

We will be in Ft.Lauderdale for 2 nights in April and am interested in a nice, clean area to stay at. We stayed at the Bahia Mar last year and it was very run down. I have 2 teenagers and will require a cot. We would like to be near things to do for a few days without renting a car and without spending a fortune on taxis. My son loves to fish. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We also need a post cruise stay for one night afterwards but I am not too concerned about that. We would like to hang by the pool since we are heading home early the next morning. My kids are 14 and 17, girl and boy.

Thanks.
