Silver Galapagos questions

5waldos, we frequently put multiple segments together. If it is any help, I only pack for 1 segment. People don't really notice what you are wearing, most of them get off and the crew can tell what the occasion/schedule is by what you a wearing!

I am not concerned about elegance but we have some differant requirments- some long sleeves/long pants for dangerous bugs, some cold high altitude, and then the Galapagos. And nearly a week in the city. It was nice to see the pictures from the excursions in the islands- everybody looking pretty much like they were dressed for the rough, nobody looking "outfitted". I generally aim at just carry on. Anything beyond that I consider a failure of packing. This one will be a challenge.

And for those new to the SS website (which I was) the Travel Journals are great and there are pictures (http://www.silversea.com/expeditions/voyage-journals/) . I thank whoever it was here who led me to them.

Thank you for that link, no idea that existed.

As far as air, we are flying on LAN direct from Guayaquil to NY. We are using AA air miles & LAN cooperates with AA. We are staying the night in Guayaquil upon return from our March 1st trip. I did get a bit lazy & booked all the hotels & transfers through SS.

We are doing a two night stop over in Panama- anything to avoid overnight flights. Will take a peak at the canal and perhaps sit on their tourist bus which will take us around the city. Not get off but just sit and take in the sights, assuming decent weather.
