Weather in Dec?

I have sailed many times from New York in December. One year, it was actually warm enough for us to be out on deck during sailaway; other years the temps were very cold. It's pretty much unpredictable.

The same goes for the sea conditions on the way south. One year we hit some huge swells (over 20 feet) off the Carolinas; other years it was smooth sailing all the way.

If you are prone to seasickness, be sure and take Bonine or another medication the day you depart and the next day as well.

Enjoy your cruise!

We have sailed from NY numerous times-usually in January and the weather has been fine. Our daughter in hot tub on next morning, and great beach weather -even in florida in january, but with Mother Nature....you never know. Worse cruise weather we hit has been in March. Worst time we had was trying to get a cab to take us the 25 minutes to the pier from our house, after snowstorm in NY. Once when we arrived in NY, there were snow flurries, very pretty. We are keeping our fingers crossed for our upcoming January cruise.

Don't stress--it's out of your control

Safe sailing
