Alaska DOT is putting out this info. early. Might be some delays on the north end of the Parks Highway next summer.

Last Sunday the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner's front page article was on the scope of the Department of Transportation's road work for 2014. It appears that a significant amount of work will be done on the Park's Highway this coming summer, including work not only south of Denali but also between Healy and Denali. DOT's navigator on-line updates will be very helpful this coming summer.

It still won't prevent people from trying to drive like madmen throughout Alaska to "see everything." Drive from Seward to Denali in one day? Even with multiple construction zones? Sure, why not :D

Alaska road construction is why I drive with food, water, blankets and something to read when in Alaska. I've had delays long enough to take a NAP.

 

But visitors don't believe this information and think they are going to be driving on interstates in Kansas.
