"LIVE" (hopefully?) from Allure of the Seas, November 10th, 2013

Recommended Posts

Really enjoying your "LIVE" report. It's getting me all psyched up to start mine later this week. I will be on Allure next week so appreciate this very much :)

I've enjoyed your reports as well, so looking forward to another week on Allure when I get back!

St. Thomas tomorrow--Ship arrival at 11:00 am, gangway open between 11:15 and 1130, all aboard at 6;30 pm.

I guess that's not *too* bad if you get in at 11am and all aboard by 6:30 (that means departure is still 7). So you're really only losing an hour in St Thomas. That's plenty of time for excursions and beach time IMHO.

May I clarify, please? Is this 11:00AM ship time and 12:00PM island time? We are on the 11/24 sailing with our DD getting married on St. John. I have to renegotiate the wedding planner contract by Friday to accommodate for the change in arrival time. I appreciate your posts and the updates to the schedules. Have a wonderful day in St. Thomas.

Yes, it is 11 am ship time. We actually docked early, about 1045 this morning.....

Good morning, everyone, thanks again for all the nice comments! I thought about posting another sunrise photo this morning, but it looked exactly the same as yesterday photo! So, I'll go with these instead. Enjoyed this lovely sunset last night on our balcony with a nice glass of wine.

Had dinner in the MDR last night. Tiger Shrimp. I had found the menus for this sailing on CC, but last nights menu was actually listed as tonight's menu. Not sure how this affects the rest of the week, but I'll report back later.

We had reserved the comedy club last night. Really enjoyed the show. DD is spending the day on a snorkeling excursion with our traveling companions, which is really great because #1, I don't "do" fish (unless they are broiled) and #2, I will have several hours of "me" time--woo hoo!

So, I've decided not to get off the ship today, and explore after the masses have departed for the day.

Yes! First sailed with Adrian on Navigator in 2004. He always goes to the "newest" ship, I'm so glad I've finally caught up with him again. I told him he is a legend on CC! On a side note, one of my favorite lady crew members is Anna from Chili. met her on Navigator in 2004, she was Adrian's sidekick in Balero's, then happened upon her again in the casino bar in on Brilliance during our Panama Canal cruise on Brilliance. Found her again this week at Sorrrentos on Allure! Three cruises, three ships, and almost 10 years...what are the chances????!!!

I thought he was always on the newest ship, and that's why I asked him about going to Quantum. His reply was that he didn't know yet. Throughout the course of the week other passengers would ask him the same thing, and again he would reply that he didn't know. I hope it's true. Being from NY, it works out for me. I get to have the newest ship here with the best bartender in the fleet onboard. :)

Do you know if Adrian has been able to contact his family in the Philippines? I hope they are safe!

It's always fun to run into past crew members again. If you frequent any other bars be sure to look for Carlos from Mexico (bartender). He's fun and makes a good drink! :D

Stopped by the Solarium Bistro and contemplated having a healthy lunch. But after perusing the area, decided I deserved a roast beef sandwich from the Park a Cafe instead. My iPhone Accupedo app says today I have walked 6360 steps, , 3.1 miles, and burned whopping 239 calories, which I have already negated two fold after a Lava Flow and Piña Colada. Oh well.....

Central Park....

Guess even during inclement weather, you can eat outdoors at chops. It's covered.

Mini-rant. Ok, there about 4 kids under the age of 5 running around an screaming on the balcony next door, while the parents are chatting away inside. So much for enjoying my cheese plate and glass of wine this evening......grrrrrrrrrrr, can I take theses kids to Adventure Ocean myself??????

Thank you for the pictures. We've been on several cruises, but not on the Oasis class yet. We will be on the Allure for the December 1 sailing. Our impressions of the ships have come from the brochures. But they really don't show the size and the interiors as your pictures have done. We were anxious already, but now we are really chomping at the bit.

Thank you also for the movie names. Of course they can change by the time we go, but we were wondering how current they were. We have racing fans and Indianapolis natives in our group, so we are hoping they will show Turbo. Were those the only 2 movies for the week, or just the ones for that day and they will have others during the week?

Enjoy your cruise. Thanks for the pictures. Please keep them coming.

Here you go...

You are a GEM!! Thank you so much for taking the time... The kids will be so excited!

The pictures of the ship are spectacular! I love your review... We are getting excited for our upcoming trip!

Sorry to hear about the kids on the balcony disrupting your balcony time! I hope that improves for you.

Why yes!!! I think it would be such a nice gesture to escort them to Adventure Ocean!! :D You're a better person than me. I would have already knocked on the door and talked the parents! (and I have three boys myself)
